Written for the McLean Middle School Wind Ensemble, Spirit Dances celebrates and honors those who are no longer physically with us, but watch over us in spirit. The piece moves through sections of lyrical remembrance, but also dances with joy as it embraces the life-affirming essence of loved ones whose memory we will always cherish. Solo instruments and ensemble sections are featured, as the composition weaves its way through emotional ebbs and flows.
